Privacy policy
Last updated July 2026. GarageByte is operated by MangyByte Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England & Wales with its registered office in London.
Who this applies to
This policy covers visitors to garagebyte.co.uk and garages who use GarageByte. For a garage's own customers, the garage is the data controller and GarageByte is the data processor — see our Data Processing Addendum.
What we collect
From website visitors and demo enquiries: the details you submit (name, garage name, email, phone, message) and basic technical data needed to run the site securely. From garages using GarageByte: account details, and the business data you enter to run your garage.
How we use it
To respond to enquiries, provide and support the service, keep it secure, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your data, and we don't serve advertising.
Sharing
We use trusted providers (hosting, email delivery, payment processing, anti-spam) who process data on our behalf under contract. We only share data where necessary to run the service or where the law requires it.
Where it's stored
Data is hosted in the UK/EU. Each garage's operational data sits in its own isolated database. We take nightly backups.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept while we follow it up and for a reasonable period after. Garage account data is kept while the account is active and, after cancellation, for a limited retention window before export and deletion.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and you can object to certain processing. Contact [email protected]. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Cookies
This marketing site uses only what's needed to function and to protect forms from spam. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies here.
